This book is co-authored by Wang Wei-Cheng, a Taiwanese beetle enthusiast, and Dr. Fuhurabu Uharu, a Japanese expert in Coleoptera.

The authors dedicated several decades to conducting research in Taiwan and its surrounding islands.

The first volume features 105 species of native Taiwanese beetles, accompanied by high-quality photos of each species, including reproductive organs and images. This allows readers to clearly identify small and similar species, combining aesthetic and academic research value.

The second volume includes 100 species of Taiwanese beetles, comprising 73 endemic species, 8 endemic subspecies, and 5 newly recorded species. It provides high-quality images along with information on host plants, occurrence periods, type localities, distribution, and more.
