NANGA was founded in 1941 in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. As part of Kawada Feather, it is a high-quality down manufacturer dedicated to domestic production in Japan.
Down is composed of durable keratin and carbon, giving it inherently high durability.
This natural material possesses exceptional physical properties and, with proper processing and care, can be used for over 100 years, and even up to 200 years.
During the processing of raw down, NANGA uses pure water sourced from Mt. Ōdaigahara, with a water hardness level of just 3, classifying it as extremely soft water.
This quality of water helps reduce the amount of detergent required during cleaning and, thanks to its excellent permeability, penetrates every fine gap within the down structure to thoroughly remove dust and oils.
In addition, the water’s mild alkalinity helps revive and restore the down fibers, bringing back their loft and elasticity. Because of these ideal water conditions for down processing, NANGA chose this location to continue producing its collections.

Design details include a two-way zipper, custom buttons made from 100% natural corozo (tagua palm seed) secured with grosgrain tape, and an adjustable waist drawcord for a more comfortable and tailored fit.
The outer shell is made from 100% Japanese-made nylon taffeta, featuring a crisp hand feel, high durability, and effective down-proof performance.
